Parrish, Moody & Fikes, p.c. is a local accounting firm which maintains offices in Waco, Austin, Dallas, and Marlin, Texas. Our practice consists of tax, accounting, auditing, computer programming and installation, and management advisory services. In the audit area, our focus is on hospital and governmental clients. Today Parrish, Moody & Fikes, p.c. represents more than 150 hospitals and other health care related providers.

Parrish, Moody & Fikes, p.c. was originally W. M. Parrish and Co., established over 50 years ago by Mr. W. M. Parrish, Sr. We are a professional corporation licensed by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Our firm currently consists of seven shareholders in active practice; W. M. Parrish, Jr., Gloria J. Fikes, Kermit Lowe, Carol S. McIntosh, Michael Oatman, Cass Sansom, and Deborah R. Whitley, all of whom are Certified Public Accountants licensed by the Texas State Board of Certified Public Accountants.

In 1996, David Hunt and Doctors Management Services joined our firm providing practice accounting and tax preparation/planning services, with a strong emphasis in medical and dental practice management.

Our firm includes over thirty CPAs and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and Central Texas Chapter of the TSCPA. Our memberships also include Texas Hospital Association (THA), Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH), as well as many other healthcare related organizations.

In an effort to better serve our clients, PMF has a regional affiliation with a network of independent accounting firms, the Southwest Practice Management Group. Through its association with these other firms, PMF extends its capabilities far beyond the central Texas area.

Every three years PMF undergoes a voluntary quality control review by an independent CPA firm. Each time, PMF has received the highest evaluation – an unqualified report.

Assurance Services

The audit department at PMF provides audits for numerous hospitals and health care providers as well as commercial businesses and non-profit organizations. Our auditing services go beyond generally accepted principles to provide you with timely financial data as well as critical operation information.

PMF has specialized experience in hospital audits; we currently serve over 100 hospitals. Shareholders of the firm are members of American Hospital Association, Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals, Texas Healthcare Association, and the Texas Hospital Association.

Our audit approach places emphasis on the need to understand your operations. Using this approach allows us to not only serve our clients as auditors, but also as advisors. We possess the manpower and expertise to complete your audit in a timely manner with minimum disruption to your staff.

Taxation and Accounting Services

The tax and accounting services department at PMF provides tax return preparation services and tax planning and research services in an effort to minimize the taxpayer’s liability, while still adhering to the rules and regulations of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). We are also available to represent our clients before the IRS, whether it is simple correspondence or an audit of a tax return.

Our accounting services are designed to assist small business owners and managers in handling the financial responsibilities of their business. We are committed to understanding the innerworkings of your business and helping you make it succeed. We provide not only financial statement preparation, but we also prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax reports and sales tax reports.

Grant Applications

PMF has written numerous grant proposals to request funding on behalf of its healthcare clients. During the past few years many new funding opportunities have become available to assist healthcare providers finance fixed asset acquisitions, building expansions, and training. The professionals at PMF work closely with both the management team of the provider and the organization offering the funding in order to increase the acceptance of the grant proposal.
